The Portland Timbers will have to shrug off yet another disappointment in Texas, as they fly up north for a huge bout against Cascadia foes the Vancouver Whitecaps (kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. PT, streaming on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV+).
The 'Caps are Supporter's Shield contenders. Portland hasn't won on the road in two months. Vancouver is missing a ton of starters, but the Timbers have been seemingly allergic to scoring. No idea what tonight is going to be, but it is sure to be something.

The Portland Timbers saved their season and stayed alive in the playoffs for at least one more game as they prevailed over San Diego FC in dramatic fashion, winning Game Two in a penalty kick shootout.
There is a strong argument that San Diego are a better team than the Portland Timbers. The expansion team should advance.
But that doesn't mean the Timbers don't have a chance. In fact, I think Portland actually has a semi-plausible path towards flipping the script and advancing.
