Today, the Portland Thorns have announced that midfielder Olivia Moultrie has been placed on the season-ending injury (SEI) list after sustaining an ACL injury to her right knee in training last week.
Olivia Moultrie via Instagram:
Heartbroken doesn’t even begin to sum up all of the feelings right now. To be taken away from something you love more than anything is a feeling I never wanted to experience. I know there is a reason this path has been chosen for me and I can’t promise everything but I can promise I’ll be back and I’ll be better. ❤️
She was listed as out with a knee injury on Saturday's NWSL availability report prior to the match at Boston Legacy FC.
“She has our full support and every resource this club can put behind her," said Jeff Agoos, President and GM of Soccer Operations for Portland Thorns.
After having a career season in 2025, Moultrie has taken to her game to a whole new level in 2026, scoring five goals and tallying five assists.
The midfielder was set to make her first World Cup roster with the USWNT in 2027, but her work ethic is one that sets her apart and gives her every chance to make a successful comeback.
"Olivia is one of the most driven players I have been around, and she will use that drive during her recovery and rehabilitation."
