Last Friday's game was an ugly loss against Racing Louisville, a team that's in the bottom tier of the league. However, they're not a bad team. And after all, this is the NWSL: where any team can beat another.

The Starting XI

The starting XI gave Carolyn Calzada her second start of the season, while Isabella Obaze got to rest. The other variation was on the front line, with Reilyn Turner starting in place of Mimi Alidou.

The game

Although the game started in Portland's favor, with Sophia Wilson finding the back of the net in the 5th minute, the hosts started to turn things in their favor from then on.

As you can see below, there were flashes when the Thorns wanted to wake up and take the game by the scruff of the neck, but in the end, Louisville drowned them.
