Lineup Prediction
In Phil Neville's words, "Everyone's fit!" That isn't exactly true, because Cole Bassett as of Friday is still listed as "questionable" on the injury report, but he trained in full this week for the first time since suffering a foot/ankle injury prior to the Timbers' last resounding loss to the Whitecaps at home.
In case you missed it, I wrote about my lineup prediction this week in a discussion thread:

Key Questions
Can the Timbers emulate what the San Jose Earthquakes and Seattle Sounders did in Vancouver this season?
Both the 'Quakes and Flounders have won at B.C. Place this season, in MLS and Concacaf Champions Cup play respectively, and did so by deploying a low block and hitting the 'Caps on the counter. Vancouver, despite being the top-scoring club in MLS in 2026, have struggled to break down stout defenses, which could be Portland's path to getting a result north of the border.
Remember, the Timbers bunkered into a low defensive block following Kamal Miller's red card against the Galaxy last time out, and but for a sloppy giveaway from Alex Bonetig and David da Costa shut-out the likes of Gabriel Pec and Marco Reus.
How will Vancouver's injury list, and Portland's relatively clean bill of health impact the match?
The Whitecaps have lost their starting defensive midfielder, Andres Cubas, and centerback, Ralph Priso for this match against the Timbers. Cubas is one of the better #6's in the league, and Priso has developed a solid partnership with 2025 MLS defender of the year Tristan Blackmon – both are massive losses for the hosts.
For Portland, Jimer Fory was suspended, David da Costa, Bassett, Diego Chara, Bonetig and Juan Mosquera were injured, and Jose Caicedo had yet to receive his visa when the Whitecaps beat the Timbers comfortably earlier this season – all of whom will give Portland a significantly higher chance of keeping Vancouver off the scoresheet tonight and scoring themselves.
