The Portland Timbers lost at Providence Park to the Vancouver Whitecaps. By multiple goals. Again. For the third time. In a row.

The threequel that literally none of us asked for.

Let's take a deep breath and dive into some takeaways.

The Timbers are now Cascadia's littlest brother

Yeah, we're coming out of the gates hot with this one.

After scoring Vancouver's third goal of the night, all but ending any hope that Portland could come back in the game, Sebastian Berhalter jogged towards the southeast corner of the stadium. Wearing what I assume was the most s**t-eating grin imaginable, he held his hand close to the ground: the universal "little brother" or "too small" move historically reserved in sports circles for when someone gets proverbially and/or literally dunked on.

It was directed towards the Timbers, and it was wholly warranted. The Timbers aren't just the "little brother" compared to the Whitecaps – they're now the littlest brother in Cascadia.
