Today, the Portland Thorns announced that they have acquired a 2026 international slot from NJ/NY Gotham FC in exchange for $15,000 in allocation money.

This would be the ninth international slot the team has acquired, with seven of them currently occupied by Mackenzie Arnold (Australia), Mimi Alidou (Canada), Jessie Fleming (Canada), Valerin Loboa (Colombia), Isa Obaze (Denmark), Marie Müller (Germany) and Cassandra Bogere (Norway).

According to the club, Julie Dufour (France) who is coming off a knee injury in the fall of 2025, will occupy the eighth slot when she is removed from the SEI list.

If that's the case, one international slot remains for 2026...
