Today, the Portland Thorns announced their midseason roster update, as required under the 2024 collective bargaining agreement between the NWSL and the NWSL Players Association (NWSLPA).
The major update announced from the club is that they are 'actively' pursuing contract extensions for Sophia Wilson, Jessie Fleming, and Pietra Tordin (2027 player option) - all three will be listed as free agents until a decision is made.
Mallie McKenzie, Renee Lyles, Jennie Immethun, and Alexa Spaanstra (on loan with Utah Royals through July 2026) will also be named free agents.
2027 options for Mimi Alidou, Deyna Castellanos, and Isa Obaze have all been declined.
