Today, the Portland Thorns have announced that they have signed midfielder Nina Nijstad through 2029 via transfer from PSV Eindhoven Vrouwen for an undisclosed fee - pending P-1 visa and international transfer clearance.
"I felt the Thorns was the best club because of its history," said Nijstad. "It was a very, very big club. I was looking for a new adventure, new challenge. And this is my first time playing outside of the Netherlands. It's a big step."
"Because of all those conversations, I had with the club, I already felt very welcome. And they just gave me a really good feeling about making this decision."
"On short term, I'd like to get good chemistry with the other midfielders, get in their flow. And for the long term, I hope to win prizes with the team."

Internationally, she made earned four appearances with the Netherlands, scoring two goals.
Nijstad, 23, spent three seasons with PSV where they won two Eredivisie Cups - the first trophies for the club. She started her professional career with 18 SC Heerenveen. This includes experience in UEFA Women's Champions League Qualifying and inaugural UEFA Women's Europea Cup.
